This self-serve plumbing manifold functions as the point where chemical fluid supply lines source the hose in your bay. Polytubing and hose lines come from the systems in your equipment room and are coupled to the block inlet ports. As lines close and open depending on the function selected, liquid enters the block, then exits through the outlet port and flows into the hose in the bay. The block itself is made of corrosion resistant brass and includes four 3/8" inlet ports, two 3/8" side ports, and one 1/2" outlet port.
Brass contains zinc that forms a protective layer that protects from corrosion. Additionally, brass contains copper that adds anti-microbial properties. This durable metal can last many years and has low friction characteristics. For all of these reasons, brass is a great choice for manifold blocks use in self-service car wash bays. Brass offers solid performance characteristics while still being economical. Low-quality steel offers cheap cost but limited durability and corrosion resistance, while stainless steel is a high-end option that will cost more. Brass is generally considered a good compromise between cost and performance goals.
